Which Way to See Asunción?

Three different ways to take in the city, and they are not interchangeable. The panoramic flight is the cheapest way to get airborne.

We also fly private helicopter charters and run air taxi services across Paraguay if you need to actually get somewhere.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything worth knowing before you book.

How much does a panoramic flight over Asunción cost?

USD 297 per flight, not per person. That covers the whole Cessna 172 for up to three passengers, so a couple pays USD 149 each and three passengers pay USD 99 each. Fuel, airport fees and the pilot are included.

How long is the panoramic flight over Asunción?

Twenty-five to thirty minutes in the air. Allow about ninety minutes on site in total, which covers arrival at the airport, the safety briefing, boarding, the flight itself and landing.

Where does the panoramic flight take off from?

Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (ASU) in Luque, about fifteen kilometres from central Asunción. It is Paraguay’s main international airport, operated by DINAC. We can add a private transfer from your hotel if you need one.

How many people can fly at once?

Three passengers plus the pilot. The Cessna 172 is a four-seat aircraft, so three is the hard limit. Larger groups fly in consecutive rotations, one after the other on the same morning or afternoon.

What do you see on a panoramic flight over Asunción?

The Paraguay River, the Bahía de Asunción and the Banco San Miguel sandbank, the historic centre with the Palacio de los López and the Panteón Nacional, the Costanera riverfront, the modern towers of Villa Morra and the green belt around Ñu Guasú.

Is a panoramic flight safe?

The flight is operated by a licensed commercial pilot in a certified aircraft under Paraguayan civil aviation rules, with a safety briefing before boarding. The Cessna 172 is the most-produced aircraft in aviation history and the standard trainer at flight schools worldwide.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Sightseeing flights need good visibility, so if the weather does not allow it we reschedule at no cost or refund you in full. The decision is made on the day by the pilot. Low cloud and strong wind are the usual reasons.

What is the best time of day to fly over Asunción?

Early morning or the hour before sunset. The light is warmer and lower, the air is usually calmer, and the shadows give the city relief. Midday flights are perfectly fine but the light is flat and the air more turbulent.

Can I take photographs during the flight?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons people book. The Cessna 172 is a high-wing aircraft, so the wing sits above the cabin and nothing blocks the view downward. Bring your own camera or phone — photography is not included in the price.

Do I need any documents to fly?

Photo identification for each passenger — a passport or national ID card. No visa or medical certificate is required, because the flight takes off and lands at the same airport and never leaves Paraguayan airspace.

Can children take a panoramic flight?

Yes. Children count as passengers toward the three-seat limit and need to be able to wear a seatbelt and a headset. Very young children often find the noise uncomfortable, so it is worth thinking about before booking.

How far in advance should I book?

Forty-eight hours is comfortable, because the slot has to be coordinated with the airport and the pilot. Same-day flights are sometimes possible depending on aircraft availability, so it is always worth asking.

Do I need a credit card to book?

No, a credit card is not required. To confirm your reservation, we only require a 30% deposit, which can be paid via credit card, wire transfer, digital wallet, or crypto. The remaining 70% is paid on the day of the flight.

What is the difference between a panoramic flight and an air taxi?

A panoramic flight takes off and lands at the same airport and exists for the view. An air taxi is transport: it flies you from Asunción to another Paraguayan city such as Ciudad del Este, Encarnación or Filadelfia. Different purpose, different pricing.
