About the guides and how we use them.
Where do the kilometres and times in the guides come from?
From the routes our fleet drives every week. The kilometres are those of the route we actually use and the times include the real stops, not the theoretical time of a map with no breaks.
How often are they updated?
When something concrete changes: a diversion on the route, a change in border procedure or a price movement. We do not rewrite them for the sake of it, so if a figure is still there it is because it still holds.
Are the prices in the guides the real ones?
Yes, they are the same ones we quote on WhatsApp. We do not publish a shop-window rate and then charge another. What does vary is long distance, which is quoted by route and by vehicle.
Are the guides available in Spanish and Portuguese?
Yes, the same guides are published in all three languages. The figures are identical; what changes is the language and the examples, because someone arriving from Brazil tends to ask different questions from someone arriving from Europe.
Why do you not publish taxi or bus prices?
Because we do not set them and they change often. We would rather not publish a number that may be out of date than give a figure that does not hold up later.
Do you cover routes that are not in the index?
We run many more routes than are documented. The guides are published gradually, starting with the most asked about. If your route is not there, write to us anyway and we will send you the figures.
Are the guides useful if I travel independently?
Yes, that is the idea. Distances, times and border requirements are the same whether you drive or we take you. In the comparison of how to get around Asuncion we even say when hiring us is not worth it.
What if I find a figure that is wrong?
Write to us and we will correct it. We would rather be told than keep something published that has stopped being true, because the whole value of these guides is that the figures can be checked.
Do they include hotel or restaurant recommendations?
No. We stick to what we know first hand, which is how to move around: routes, times, borders and vehicles. For accommodation and food there are better sources than us.
Can I use the figures on my own site?
If you cite the source, no problem. What we ask is that the tables are not copied without attribution, because the work behind them is precisely that of measuring rather than copying.
Why are the distance guides separate from the transfer pages?
Because they answer different questions. The distance guide answers how many kilometres and how many hours it is, whichever way you travel. The transfer page is for booking. Merging them would mean neither answered its question properly.
Are the guides useful for planning a multi-day trip?
Yes. Combining the distance guides lets you build a realistic itinerary: how long it takes between each pair of cities, where there is a border crossing and how much the paperwork adds. That is the part most underestimated when planning Paraguay.
